Issued as standard picture sleeve; and as a limited edition gatefold.
Both sleeves have completely different artwork. The gatefold also
includes inner artwork, as well as different labels, and a plain
black inner sleeve.
The standard issue 12" features an extended version of the
track with samples lifted from the Dustin Hoffman film 'Little Big
Man'. The 'Instrumental is a slightly edited instrumental of main
'Extended Mix'. However, 'USLS 1' is a non-album Eric Thongren mix;
with less guitar. The track is also featured on the 7" &
The remix 12" features a specially commissioned dance remix
by Dave Dorrell; along with an instrumental of the US 12" version.
'The Alamo' style guitar was recorded by engineer Robin Hancock.
'USLS 1' was inspired by the fact John & Nora were booked onto
the doomed PanAM 103 flight from Heathrow to New York that exploded
over Lockerbie, Scotland in December 1988; killing nearly 300 people.
John & Nora only missed the flight as they were running late...
It would be several years after the tragedy before John revealed
what might have been...
Lu Edmonds, who had left the band by the recording
of '9', receives a co-credit on both tracks, but does not play on

'Warrior' came about from a chance meeting with Nellee Hooper, who
suggested I worked with Dave Dorrell on a remix. It was just me
trying to do something a bit different...
