Track Info:
The standard issue 12" features the normal 'Happy?' version of 'The Body'. However, the remix 12" features two new mixes of the track. The 'UK Remix' by Gary Langan, and the 'US Remix' by Eric Thongren.

The re-recording of 'Religion' by the 'new' PiL was intended for an album of re-recorded PiL tracks entitled 'Renovations'. However, only 'The Suit' & 'Religion' were ever released, both as B-sides. The tracks were produced by PiL and mixed by Steve Chase.

'The Body' is seen by some as a follow up to the Pistols 'Bodies', as both tackle abortion. However, both tracks come from completely different angles.

This was probably PiL's poorest selling single!

A promo video was shot for the single. Directed by Fiona Stylianou.

Sleeve Design:

There was a lot going on around the time about the anti-abortion league, and the pro-abortion, and I just thought I'd throw my tuppence into all this - standpoint? Women have the right to have abortions. Period. This is somewhere where no one should interfere. It should never be considered illegal, but then you shouldn't be able to get yourself into that position in the first place. It's only ignorance and lack of education about contraception that leads to these disasters.
